San Sebastián has three airports within reach. San Sebastián Airport (EAS), just 20 km northeast, handles domestic flights from Madrid and Barcelona only; an Ekialdebus public bus runs every 60–90 minutes into the city centre in about 30 minutes, while a taxi costs roughly €45 by day or €50 at night. For international travellers, Bilbao Airport (BIO) 75 km west is the main gateway: the PESA bus departs hourly (07:45–23:45) for a 75-minute ride at €17.10 per single ticket. Biarritz Airport (BIQ) in France, 47 km northeast, has connections to Paris and some European cities, with two daily bus services into San Sebastián taking just over an hour. High-speed and regional trains also connect San Sebastián's Amara station with Madrid, Barcelona, and Bilbao.

Moving through the city
San Sebastián is gloriously walkable — most top attractions, from La Concha Beach to Monte Urgull and the Old Town pintxos bars, sit within a mile of each other. When your feet need a rest, the city bus network reaches all key neighbourhoods and points of interest. Taxis run 24 hours a day, and bike rental stations are dotted throughout the city, including along the Concha seafront promenade. For Monte Igueldo, visitors board a vintage funicular railway from the western end of the bay. The city's small scale means a car is largely unnecessary and parking is expensive.
